Professional Resilience

For many high-achieving people, work has been the main way to feel safe, valued, or in control. When that stops working, the fallout can touch everything.

Who This Service Is For

Professional resilience work at Thayer OPS is designed for:

  • Tech workers (engineers, product, data, etc.)
  • Founders, executives, managers, and team leads
  • Healthcare, education, and other helping professions
  • Often men and masc folks, though all genders are welcome
  • People who have always been “high-functioning” and are now hitting a wall

How we work with professional resilience

Professional resilience here is not about toughing it out or “fixing your mindset” while everything else stays the same. It’s about changing how your nervous system, your beliefs, and your work life interact so you can stay human in high-pressure environments.

In practice, that usually means:

  • Understanding your history with performance and safety so we know why “just set boundaries” lands the way it does in your body.

  • Working directly with chronic stress and building realistic recovery practices that actually fit your life.

  • Using ACT and parts work to loosen the grip of perfectionism, shame, and overachievement and make more values-aligned choices.

  • Changing how you work, not just how you feel, by exploring boundaries, communication, workload, and role design where you have leverage.

Throughout, we keep culture, identity, and your specific system in view—naming where the environment is harmful, not just pathologizing your reaction to it.

Format & expectations

Sessions are typically weekly or biweekly, virtually or in person (when available).

Some people come for a focused period around a crisis or transition; others stay longer to reshape deeper patterns.

We’ll talk honestly about what’s working, what isn’t, and what you’re actually willing to change.

If you’re a high-pressure professional wondering what it would be like to stop white-knuckling your life, you’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself
